Race for Gold, Trek for Silverbacks: Uganda Marathon Awaits!

Dear Marathoner,

How have the 2024 Paris Olympics inspired you? Here in Uganda, our hearts are bursting with pride because Joshua Cheptegei, our three-time world champion (aka the Silverback!), won gold in the men’s Olympic 10,000 metres. Truly, no one does it like Cheptegei! How is his name not already a synonym for “legendary” in the dictionary? We think it’s time someone forwarded that suggestion to Merriam-Webster. 😉

But every gold medal is matched by a shining silver, and that belongs to none other than Peruth Chemutai, who represented Uganda in the women’s 3000-metre steeplechase. Their victories raise Uganda’s Olympic medal count to a solid 13. Chemutai is not new to the global stage either, for she became the first Ugandan woman to win a medal at the 2020 Olympics! The mood here is pure jubilation! And we’ve channelled that very energy into crafting an unforgettable adventure for you come May 2025.
