Over the last week, the Uganda Marathon has been holding a competition to offer one lucky person the chance to win an amazing weeklong adventure, challenge and experience of a lifetime. That’s right- the chance to win a FREE spot in the Uganda Marathon 2016!

The competition was held in partnership with Escape the City, an organisation that helps people out of unfulfilling jobs, in order to do something they love.

Escape the City will be joining us throughout marathon week and holding a series of workshops on the Saturday. These will be design to help people who want a change, and want to do something more exciting with their lives.

To enter, all our participants had to do was be an Escape the City email subscriber and enter through our Facebook page, by liking and sharing one of our posts.

And now we have a winner! Click on the video above to see the draw, announced by Moses, our Ugandan Director.

I think it safe to say, the children at Bugabira primary school, one of our projects, are quite excited!

We had a lot of entries, and to top off the great competition, we wanted to do something special and announce the winner all the way from the equator, via video. For our 2016 runners, this is a preview of the amazing community you’ll be meeting in June!

A big, big thank you to everyone who took the time to enter, and a huge congratulations to Hannah- we’ll see you in Uganda!

Missed out, but still want to get involved in a six-day Ugandan adventure, where you can volunteer, make new friends, change lives and take on a big challenge? Spots are going fast, but there’s still time to sign up… You could be one of 200 hundred runners travelling to Uganda this June!
