Following our first training run for our 2016 Runners at Peckham Rye parkrun in January, Mark (our running expert & certified athletics coach) has put together a social training schedule leading up to the Uganda Marathon in June.

With a variety of events and distances, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re training for the full marathon, half marathon or 10K course on June 5th. Pacing will be mixed to accommodate everyone as these runs are designed for all abilities- above all we want these to be social runs and fun for everyone.

Afterwards we’ll all go for a coffee and brunch. Even if you don’t want to train or are resting/recovering, feel free to join us for the coffee after the run!

These events will also be great opportunities to meet some of the team and fellow runners before flying to Uganda.

Feel free to get involved as well even if you’re not signed up- these runs are a good chance to come along, meet people and ask questions. But please note we only have a few places left, so if you’re thinking of join us this year, perhaps drop us a message sooner rather than later, to avoid disappointment. Of course, if you’re thinking of coming to Uganda in 2017, we’d love for you to join us this year and get training early!

Sun 6th Mar (10.00) – Sunday plod with Thomas: Richmond Park social run (7.5/10 mile options)

Sat 12th Mar (09.00) – Hilly Fields parkrun (free 5k timed run) – great opportunity to practice your hill climbing & descents several times over a short distance

Sun 13th March (10.00) – Sunday plod with Thomas: Wimbledon Common social run (7.5/10/13 mile options)

Sat 26th Mar (09.30) – Social run @ Richmond Park (7.5/15 mile approx. options – potential for parkrun @ 9am as well)


Sun 3rd Apr (09.15) – UGM does Wimbledon Half Marathon! (£24/£21). Entries are still open: click here for the link to enter online

Sunday 10th Apr (10.00) – Putney & Fulham Half Marathon! (£21/£19). Entries are still open: click here for the link to enter online

Sat 16th Apr (09.00) – Bushy parkrun (free 5k timed run) – pilgrimage to the home of parkrun, mostly on grass/paths


Sun 8th May (09.30) – The ‘4 weeks to go’ Thames Path Long Run – Richmond to Central London via Putney (8/16/20 mile options)
